Children's Parties - How to Organize Parties For Kids

What are you're thoughts when your child mentions having a party?
You may say "how am I going to manage to organize parties for my kids and make them fun?
Some parents faced with organizing their children's party go into melt down.

Parties are a special day for your child and she'll have high expectations and her own ideas as to what she wants.

You'll have a number of roles to play as party organizer; yummy children's party food supplier, children's entertainer, fun manager and generally anything else related to children's part stuff.
Having worked with many parents for many years and been involved many different types of kid's parties I have tips I to share with you.

1. All kid's parties should be enjoyable and fun.

When planning your children's party have this number one thought in mind, FUN. If you find that all your napkins, plates and cups don't match perfectly no one will remember this in a few weeks. These things are not important. What the children will remember is how enjoyable the party was. Plan for FUN.

2. Start organizing children's party stuff early

I would always recommend starting organizing kids parties early, don't leave things till the last moment. Doing a little bit of the children's party stuff at time often works well and keeps the stress level down. If you are going to book a children's party entertainer you MUST book him early, although it can be just as much fun if you organize the entertainment yourself.

3. Don't be pushed into having more kids

I know a teacher who pressured parents into inviting every child in the class to the every other child's party. Parents were placed under pressure to invite more children than they could cope with. Never let yourself be pushed into having more children to any of your kid's parties than you feel comfortable with or the location and your finances can handle.

4. Know the maximum number of children

The best way not to be pressured by your child into having more children than you want to his party is by having a specific number in your mind before you even speak to your child about it. Be willing and open to a little negotiation.

5. Know how much you want to spend

How do you want to spend the majority share of your budget on children's party food, an entertainer or upmarket party bags? Allocate an amount to each section of your kid's party before you start and you're much more likely to stay within your budget. Kid's parties need not be expensive. Don't allow your child's tantrums or sulking make you spend more than you can afford.

6. Get family and friends involved

Organize help for a toddler party or kid's parties well before the actual day. Have extra people available and always allocate all the jobs in advance and not on the actual party day.

7. Make games at kid's parties short

Long games cause boredom especially if they're games where children are eliminated. Children have very short attention spans particularly at an exciting event like a party. Bored kids cause trouble and get into mischief.

8. Plan to have a quieter activity during kid's parties

Think about preparing a craft or other quieter activity that children will enjoy and will be fun. This may not be suitable for a toddler party. Quiet activities can be used to calm the children down after a more noisy activity or before children's party food I've found works really well. It must be fun and well organized and you'll need to have other adults to help you.

9. Keep control

I've seen some kid's parties almost being ruined by children being allowed to get out of control. Don't loosen normal boundaries during kids parties because you feel this is the way to have more fun. Please don't do it. Fun doesn't equate with lack of control, I can assure you children will have more fun if boundaries are kept in place.

10. Have help available to clean up after any kid's parties

Most people know that cleaning up after kid's parties can be one of the worst parts of the event. Organize this well before the day, get friends or pay local teenager to help you. Write a list of all the things that will need doing and allocate these jobs to those who'll be helping.

Remember kid's parties should be about fun and laughter. EVERYONE should enjoy it including the adults.
